Patient Waiting
2 Thessalonians 3:4-5
And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both do and will do the things which we command you. And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.
~ DIRECT YOUR HEARTS ~
To direct our hearts into the love of God, is an act of our will. We direct our hearts and we wait patiently for the return of Jesus. Today's step is to choose to turn our hearts to Him.

A beautiful dedication Chris, though I wonder if we are ready to put some heart into the "how Jesus is to return" are we placing an unattainable expectation for a miracle that some how he will return as a ghostly coming on clouds and cast us into submission where every religion will heed his presence, do we really want him to return, surely if true we need to think a little on the how...
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting. The idea of submission, unattainable expectations, miracles, ghostly coming, every religion heeding His presence... all impossible and scary prospects at best... if not for the wonderful aspect of the fundamental love of Jesus. He will be seen by the world as worthy, having done everything for our good and our growth. We will choose submission to his leadership, because it will not mean loss of freedom. It will mean freely embracing "the greater good", which will be our own individual greater good as well. That takes supreme trust, which we will have in Him (He died for us after all). Islam already accepts Him as a prophet (Isa). It will not be a great leap for Islam to welcome Him when He comes. I suspect the same will be the case for the other religions of the world as well, since the core of who He is, resonates in the heart of every religion, but more importantly every person. For all people, it's an impossible idea, but for God, all things are possible. That is the great hope for love and peace to prevail for the good of all.
ReplyDeleteI turn my heart to God, though I am not ready for him to come again. I don't want that to happen while I'm still alive... the world is in chaos first for what seems like a long time before that happens. I'm hoping he waits a while.
