The Forgiven Ones

Can He forgive the man whose watchingalways counting those to blamefor not heeding what he saw,until the hour of his own shame ?
Isaiah 58: 6 -
Is this not the fast which I chose,
To loosen the bonds of wickedness,
To undo the bands of the yoke,
And to let the oppressed go free,
And break every yoke ?
"Is it not to divide your bread
with the hungry,
And bring the homeless poor
into the house;
When you see the naked, to
cover him;
And not to hide yourself from
your own flesh ?
"Then your light will break out
like the dawn.
And your recovery will speedily
spring forth;
And your righteousness will
go before you;
The glory of the Lord will be
your rear guard.
Then you will call, and the
Lord will answer;
You will cry, and He will say,
'Here I am.'
If you remove the yoke from
your midst,
The pointing of the finger, and
speaking wickedness,
And if you give yourself to the
hungry,
And satisfy the desire of the afflicted,
Then your light will rise in
darkness,
And your gloom will become
like midday,
"And the Lord will continually
guide you,
And satisfy your desire in
scorched places,
And give strength to your
bones;
And you will be like a watered
garden,
And like a spring of water
whose waters do not fail.

Romans 14: 12 - 13
So then each one of us shall give account of himself to God. Therefore let us not judge one another any more, but rather determine this -- not to put an obstacle or a stumbling block in a brother's way.

Ephesians 4: 32
And be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.

~ A NEW HEART AND A FRESH START ~
A forgiven heart is a heart that can get back in the race. Todays FootPrint is forgiveness, because it is as we forgive, that we ourselves are also forgiven.

  1. Hi Chris,
    We can feel weighted when dwelling on all of the "should have's" ...
    Should've done this, should've done that...
    It is beautiful when we can forgive and move on... but sometimes, most times, restoring and healing need to take place. It is necessary to go before the Healer ...
    This is sometimes as sharp as laser light ~ an ah-ha epiphany to change a heart, a body or soul. A 180 takes place.
    ---Other times, it is a slow fire or a slow peeling away...patience with ourselves or others in necessary and gratitude for each step is important.
    I hope I remember all of these things in my heart... they are, at times, difficult to see or follow.
    love ~Maria

  2. Dad,
    I think this is one of the more challenging things God asks us to do. As human beings we are conflicted by feelings--anger, doubt, hatred, jealousy, etc. Showing compassion and forgiveness to those that wrong us almost seems to go against what we intrinsically are. It is only through God's strength that we do this.
